Right after ice off on Roche, a red conehead with silver rib was always killer for me back in the weeds. That green one IS my Roche fly! Hah!

I look at all these chironomids and I am jealous. I just tie mine out of thread or when I do chromies I use mylar tinsel, always with a peacock herl head or a clear glass bead. Been doing them that way since(egads! I'm dating myself) the early 70's. They still work so I still use them.
Is there an advantage to gulff varnish over the other U.V. cures? Also how many coats? Anti Static Bag? Never heard of this?HahahaThis is one of my simplest patterns. The body is black UTC 70 thread and I use anti Static bag as the rib but I make it a little wider so the black thread becomes the rib, then coat it with Gulff varnish. I hope I explained that right.

I have tried a few different brands of UV glues, and the Gulff is my favorite, dries harder and last longer than the others. Solariz is good but its very fumey and will cause some skin reactions. Anti Static bag, the bag that computer hard drives coming in. Just cut it into the size strips you need, that simple. Is there an advantage to gulff varnish over the other U.V. cures?
